The cynics say we care for nothing other than grades; and we neglect theneed for character cultivation. But again, the cynics are wrong. We care deeplyfor each other, we cherish freedom, we treasure justice, and we seek truth. Lastweek, thousands of my fellow students had their blood type tested in order tomake a contribution for the children who suffer from blood cancer.

As college students, we are adolescents at the critical turning point inour lives. We all face a fundamental choice: cynicism or faith, each willprofoundly impact our future, or even the future of our country. I believe inall my fellow classmates. Though we are still inexperienced and even a littlebit childish. I believe that we have the courage and faith to meet any challengeand take on our responsibilities. 　　作为一个学了这么多年英语的中国学生，我的感想还是很多的。

　　记忆中最早接触英语这门课是从小学三年级开始的。那时我们的小学刚刚从三年级普及英语教学。和大多数孩子一样，当时的我对英语可以说是一窍不通，只记得小学的课本上有很多的图片，老师布置作业就是把图片画出来，然后写上它的英文单词。例如：床（bed）、伞（umbrella）、鞋（shoots）、铅笔（pencil）之类，都是一些很基础的单词。那时的我对这些不感兴趣，倒是每次老师用录音机放磁带的时候，我很喜欢，也不知道为什么。就是喜欢读，喜欢模仿磁带里的发音。可以说，小学的我除了读，我什么都不会。

　　上了初中，英语被当做三大主课之一。恰好的我的班主任也是英语老师。无形之中，英语变得重要起来。虽说也是从abc教起，但我刚开始的英语成绩却也平平。为了改变这一状况，我在初一下学期开始努力，每天往老师办公室跑，向她请教。课上我也积极主动发言，为此还得到了她的表扬。也就是从这时开始，我觉得我找到了英语的“门”，觉得豁然开朗了。这也成为我学习英语过程中的一个重要转折点。随之而来的，是成绩的一天天提高。在成绩的刺激下，渐渐地，我也喜欢上了这门课。当然，付出是有回报的，我收获了接近满分的中考英语成绩。

　　这种对英语的喜爱也一直延续到了高中。刚进高中时的第一堂英语课令我印象极深。英语老师讲完课文之后，让我们retell（复述）课文的大概内容。随后一片沉默。当时觉得英语成绩还不错的我积极地举起了手，向老师讲述了这个故事。我们用英语对着话，好像全班只有我们两个在交谈。随后，老师和全班同学为我鼓了掌。也正因为如此，我顺理成章地当上了英语课代表。从那以后的一段时间里，我渐渐地把英语当做了我驾轻就熟的科目，就不那么认真地去学了，有些浮躁。不久我就得到了教训，一直引以为傲的英语成绩跌落下来。这让我认识到，脚踏实地地学习是多么重要。从那以后，我又恢复了以前学英语激情与努力并存的学习状态。

　　上了大学，英语虽说是必修课，但课堂上老师讲的毕竟是有限的，主要还是靠自己。其实不光是英语，其他学科也是如此。而且也有了硬性要求，不过四级，就没有学位证。所以，大学对英语也不能放松。

　　baroque music describes a style of european classical music approximately extending from 1600 to 1750. this era is said to begin in music after the renaissance and was followed by the classical era. the word baroque came from the portuguese word barroco, meaning misshapen pearl.that is to say, the typical characteristic ofbaroque music is replacing the old with the new , though it may be irregular, exaggerated as well as grand.

　　most of baroque music is church music, which is full of passion and worship. the baroque age brought an new interest in instrumental music, especially,organ. i think you have heard the music played with the organ. in the pirates of the caribbean ,the octopus played with it.

　　all in all, baroque music is so beautiful that we should spend some time hearing it and enjoying it. maybe you will be fond of baroque music as well as learn something from it.
